It's true that letting old people die will cut health care costs. And that's just what will likely start happening as medical care becomes more and more government controlled. The current health bill puts a financial incentive on hospitals to NOT readmit patients. So they will either keep them in the hospital longer, which leaves them vulnerable to disease, or release them and drag their feet on readmitting them, in which case they may not receive the care they need. Oh, I suppose they could stop giving "poor care" as the experts have decided that hospital readmissions are a sign of.
This will be a very costly demonstration of the fact that you get what you pay for (and not what you don't pay for).
